Arm opens Galway hub to back Ireland’s semiconductor ambitions

Chip design giant Arm has launched a new state-of-the-art facility in Galway, reinforcing Ireland’s growing role in the global semiconductor industry. Backed by IDA Ireland, the expansion aligns with the government’s recently launched Silicon Island strategy, which aims to make the country a magnet for high-tech investment and chip innovation.

The facility will support cutting-edge R&D and deepen Arm’s local footprint, as Ireland positions itself as a prime base for semiconductor talent, manufacturing, and commercialisation.
