Collins Aerospace expands advanced manufacturing in India

Collins Aerospace, a business of US-based RTX, has inaugurated its Collins India Operations Center (CIOC), a 26-acre facility at KIADB Aerospace Park in Bengaluru, India. The site enhances the company’s capacity to manufacture advanced aerospace products for international markets.

Equipped with AI, robotics, and additive manufacturing technologies, the facility will initially produce seats, lighting and cargo systems, temperature sensors, communication and navigation systems, water solutions, and evacuation slides. Industry 4.0 building management systems connect the facility’s ecosystem, improving speed and quality of production. By 2026, the CIOC is expected to employ over 2,200 staff.

Roy Gullickson, senior vice president of operations at Collins Aerospace, highlighted that the CIOC will support operations for more than 70 products, strengthen service transformation, and provide incremental capacity for future growth and customer demands. The site’s LEED Silver and Indian Green Building Council Silver certifications underscore the facility’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing practices.

Collins Aerospace has operated in India for nearly three decades, with a workforce exceeding 6,500 across engineering, digital, manufacturing, operations, and supply chain functions. Earlier in 2025, the company announced investment in a new Engineering Development and Test Center in Bengaluru, further cementing its regional presence.
