Martin Group moves into manufacturing with Montracon acquisition

Derry-based Martin Group has acquired UK trailer manufacturer Montracon from Ballyvesey Holdings in a bold move to expand beyond its core property interests. The deal includes 300,000 sq ft of freehold industrial space and a 200-strong workforce across Doncaster and Co Antrim.

Despite Montracon’s recent dip in turnover and a £1.9m pre-tax loss in 2024, Martin sees strong brand equity and product quality as the foundation for long-term growth. The new owners have pledged continuity in operations while investing in the brand’s expansion and stability.
