Tate to Invest $61M in Glasgow, creating 400 manufacturing Jobs
Data center infrastructure provider Tate, a subsidiary of Irish-listed Kingspan Group PLC, has announced plans to establish its largest North American facility in Glasgow, Kentucky. The $61.2 million investment will create 400 full-time manufacturing jobs, marking the largest job-creation announcement in Barren County in nearly two decades.
The new 764,000-square-foot facility will focus on high-performance thermal management and airflow solutions for data centers, including structural aisle containment, ceiling systems, and raised access floors. Tate’s technology aims to improve energy efficiency, ventilation effectiveness, and indoor air quality while supporting operational reliability in critical infrastructure environments.
Tate currently employs over 1,800 people across 21 global facilities. With Kingspan Group’s broader footprint of 273 facilities and more than 27,000 employees in 80 countries, this expansion underscores Tate’s commitment to scaling U.S. operations and delivering advanced data center solutions.
Kentucky state and local leaders welcomed the announcement. Gov. Andy Beshear highlighted the state’s skilled workforce and strategic location, emphasizing the project’s significance in reinforcing Kentucky’s position as a manufacturing hub.
Glasgow Mayor Henry Royse called it a “once-in-a-generation milestone” for the community, and Barren County Judge/Executive Jamie Byrd and Maureen Carpenter, CEO of the Barren County Economic Authority, praised the project for its long-term economic and community impact.
Daniel Kennedy, Tate’s Global President of Cloud Solutions and Innovation, noted that expanding manufacturing capabilities in rural Kentucky demonstrates Tate’s dedication to growth, innovation, and high-quality job creation in the U.S.
The Glasgow facility is expected to become fully operational in the coming years, providing both economic benefits and advanced data center solutions to meet growing industry demand.
