US firms double down on Irish investment despite global headwinds

tensions mount. A new AmCham survey shows 92.5% plan to maintain or boost employment, with 60% set to hire more. Nearly 70% have fresh investments lined up within five years, underscoring Ireland’s position as a strategic base for manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and tech.

Yet challenges remain. Housing is the top concern, followed by cost competitiveness, skills shortages, and planning complexity. AI and automation investments are accelerating, with two-thirds increasing spend this year and over 80% expecting continued AI-driven transformation.
